Every missed attack becomes a detection
For CISOs and SOC leaders who want proof that their people, processes and tools can stop a realistic attacker - and a plan to close the gaps.
Maatara Consulting is an AI-native technology consultancy, with teams in Concord, California and Bengaluru, India, that designs, builds, secures and runs cloud and AI systems. Our red teaming services simulate real adversaries, then work side by side with your defenders to fix what was missed.

How Our Red Teaming Services Work
Red teaming services simulate a determined attacker pursuing specific objectives - reaching customer data, a payment system or an admin console - to test whether you would notice and respond. Purple teaming then brings attackers and defenders together to replay each technique, tune detections and confirm they work.
Objectives, not checklists
Each exercise has business objectives agreed with leadership, such as reaching a crown-jewel system.
- Realistic goals
- Scenarios based on threats to your sector
Safe by design
Rules of engagement, out-of-bounds systems and stop conditions are agreed in writing before any activity.
- Named contacts and stop word
- No disruption to production by design
Detection, not just intrusion
We measure what your SOC saw, when and what it did, not only whether we got in.
- Time to detect and respond recorded
- Every technique mapped to ATT&CK
Purple sessions to close gaps
Attackers and defenders replay missed techniques together until detections fire reliably.
- New detections built and tested
- Gaps tracked to closure
Four Ways We Test Your Defences
Choose by maturity and objective; many clients combine two.
Full red team
A covert, objective-based campaign from initial access to target, testing people, process and technology.
Assumed breach
Starting from a compromised user or workload to test internal detection and lateral-movement defences.
Purple teaming
Collaborative sessions replaying ATT&CK techniques with your SOC to validate and improve detections.
Cloud and AI attack paths
Targeted testing of cloud identities, pipelines and AI features such as agents and LLM integrations.
Our Red Teaming Services
From a first assumed-breach exercise to a regular adversary-testing programme.
Threat-informed scoping
Objectives and scenarios based on threats to your sector.
Red team campaign
Objective-based adversary simulation.
Assumed breach exercise
Internal detection and response tested from inside.
Purple team sessions
Technique-by-technique detection tuning with your SOC.
Social engineering
Phishing and pretexting within agreed limits.
Cloud attack paths
Identity, role and pipeline abuse in AWS, Azure or GCP.
AI red teaming
Prompt injection, data exfiltration and tool misuse against AI systems.
Detection engineering
New and improved detections built from findings.
Retest and programme
Repeat exercises to show improvement over time.
Why Teams Choose Maatara for Red Teaming Services
We test and we defend: our engineers run security operations and built SecBoard, so purple sessions end in working detections, not just a report. Our security practice is advised by Amit Garg, who has advised US Federal and US Defense programs on cyber strategy and incident readiness. Exercises are mapped to MITRE ATT&CK so progress is measurable.

What Exercises Commit To
These are the commitments every red teaming services engagement works to.
Mapped to MITRE ATT&CK with detected, partial or missed
Detection and response times recorded for each stage
Missed techniques replayed until detections fire
Activity outside agreed rules of engagement
Typical Deliverables
Our red teaming services leave your team with evidence and working improvements.
Rules of engagement
Scope, objectives, limits, contacts and stop conditions.
Attack narrative
Step-by-step story of the campaign and decisions.
ATT&CK coverage map
Techniques detected, partly detected and missed.
Detection improvements
New or tuned rules tested during purple sessions.
Executive summary
Business-level findings and priorities for leadership.
Remediation plan
Ranked fixes with owners and retest dates.
Not sure what your SOC actually detects?
Map it against MITRE ATT&CK.
Security Work in Practice
Security systems our engineers have built and run.
SecBoard
Security · AI - A vulnerability command centre that pulls findings from about 25 security tools across eight categories into one store, scores risk by reachability, asset criticality and active exploitation, and generates compliance evidence from the same data.
Ops-Intelligence
AI · Cloud - An agent that watches enterprise applications, correlates signals across dependent services and points to the dependency behind a failure. Known faults run on deterministic rules, a local model handles only new events, and an operator approves every change.
KioskBar
Build - A custom Win32 shell, written in C# and WPF, that turns a shared Windows PC into a locked, single-purpose kiosk with pinned apps, built-in tools and 4K multi-monitor support.
Adversary Testing Across How You Go to Market
Red teaming services scenarios depend on what attackers want from you.
B2B & Enterprise
Scenarios targeting customer data, admin consoles and supply-chain access, with evidence for customer assurance.
B2C & Platforms
Account takeover, fraud and abuse paths at scale.
D2C & Digital Brands
Payment, loyalty and storefront compromise scenarios.
Pen tests passing but breaches still happening?
Test detection and response, not just entry points.

Is Red Teaming Right for You?
A good fit if
- You have a SOC or security team and want to know if it works.
- You already run penetration tests and want to go further.
- Leadership wants evidence of resilience against real attacks.
- You want gaps turned into working detections.
The wrong start if
- You have no monitoring or response capability yet - start with a SOC.
- You need a compliance checkbox, not a real test.
- Leadership will not sponsor or agree rules of engagement.

Unlike a scoped vulnerability test, a red team tests people, processes and technology together, and measures detection and response, not only entry.
Still have a question?
Ask an engineer, not a call centre. You get a straight answer within one business day.
Ask our teamRed teaming services simulate a real adversary pursuing specific objectives, such as reaching customer data, to test whether your organisation can detect and respond. Unlike a scoped vulnerability test, a red team tests people, processes and technology together, and measures detection and response, not only entry.
A penetration test finds as many vulnerabilities as possible in a defined scope, usually with defenders aware. Red teaming pursues objectives covertly, chaining weaknesses the way an attacker would, to test whether your security team notices and responds. Most organisations need both.
Purple teaming brings the red team and your defenders together. Each attack technique is run openly, the SOC checks whether it was detected, and detections are tuned until they fire reliably. It is the fastest way to turn red team findings into real improvements.
It is designed to be. We agree rules of engagement in writing, exclude fragile systems, set stop conditions and keep a control contact on your side. Activity is logged so it can be distinguished from real attacks, and we stop immediately if something unexpected happens.
A purple-team session block can run over days. An assumed-breach exercise usually takes a few weeks including reporting. A full covert red team campaign takes longer. The proposal gives a dated plan for your objectives, including when purple sessions and retests will happen.
Exercises are priced as fixed-scope work based on objectives, scenarios and duration, or as a recurring programme. After a free scoping call you receive a fixed-price proposal with no hidden costs, including the purple sessions and retest needed to confirm fixes.
